“Every new beginning comes from another beginning’s end” —Seneca
“The direction you choose to face determines whether you’re standing at the end or the beginning of a road” —Richelle E. Goodrich

For so many, 2024 has been a year of change. As I look back on the last year I am filled with gratitude for family, friendships and music. So many people have been there to catch me during a very painful time. Love fuels my heart with strength and I continue forward.
For so many, 2024 has been a year of loss. I want to share a few hard earned lessons, which I am able to put into words thanks to the author and grief specialist David Kessler:
Grief is change we don’t want
Grief is something we must move through
Love and grief are inseparable
I can’t help but think of every breath we take:
Inspiration is the in-breath
Expiration is the out-breath
Inspiration & expiration is the constant cycle of being alive
With every exhalation we release what was
With every inhalation we begin anew
In singing we teach the beautiful fluidity of breath to sound. Each phrase ends with a new inspiration. Each ending is a new beginning. The transition is seamless, the music flows.
With this I invite you to welcome 2025 as a continuous balanced cycle of inspiration and expiration.
Letting go of what once was does not change the essence of the love, and it’s that love that we carry forward into our new beginnings.
I am looking forward to a 2025 filled with music. I am committed more than ever to beautify spaces, build community and promote wellness through music improvisation and song.
I wish you a peaceful, inspired, musical and FUN 2025!
